Overview words about coaching needed here.

If you would like to find out more about coaching opportunities please get in contact with the Eastern Regions Coaching & Clubs Officer Dave Ryan.

Coaching to Racing

This is an opportunity for novice adult riders to participate in a series of sessions that are coached by a BC coach with the view on building up the skills to introduce them into our entry level racing GO-RACE.

You can find Coaching to Racing opportunities here

Para Hubs

These sessions are the first step on the GB Para pathway as well as working with riders who would like to ride recreationally in a safe environment on either a closed road circuit or track.

You can find Para Hubs opportunities here

Club Clusters

Club Clusters are training sessions where a cluster of Go-Ride clubs come together to share resources, riders and coaches to add variety in the sessions. They are in every discipline and are for Under 16’s. This is where coaches start to work with riders on their Talent Benchmarks in the chosen discipline.

For riding opportunities please get in contact with the Coaching & Clubs Officer Dave Ryan

Development Centres (DC)

These are the next step up for Club Clusters for Youth A & B as well as Juniors (13-18yrs). They are a requirement to attend if you wish to progress onto Talent RSR days, and are a great opportunity for Juniors to get some more regular coaching with their peers. There is a continuation of more advanced skills in line with Talent Benchmarking

Regional School of Racing (RSR)

These are run by the British Cycling Talent Coach and where the top regional riders come together to work on skills that can help advance their racing, as well as off the bike activities such as Anti Doping workshops or strength and conditioning. You need to be nominated by your club after showing that you have met the criteria.

For opportunities please get in contact with the Jason Cattermole

Go-Ride School Sessions

Our BC coaches work in a variety of schools in the region where we work with a group over several weeks working on their core skills on the bike to progress further so they feel confident when riding. On average we work with schools years 5-8. They get an opportunity at the end of the series of sessions to race against their peers so they can really get the bug for cycling. After this we work with the local Go-Ride club so the school has a link to direct children outside of these schools sessions.

If your school would like to get involved please contact Russell Hampton or John Stockwell

Ready - Set - Ride School Sessions

These are very similar to the Go-Ride sessions but are working with younger children in school years 1-2 working with balance bikes. This really focuses on their balance and co-ordination which is in line with the school’s curriculum.

If your school would like to get involved please contact Russell Hampton or John Stockwell

Go-Ride Club Sessions

These are regular club sessions in your local area that are catered for riders under 16yrs old which are always done on a traffic free facility whether that is a closed road circuit, BMX or Speedway Track, grass field or Velodrome.

You can find your local Go-Ride club here
